Implants

Dental Implants are a beautiful functional option for restoring missing teeth. Implants look and feel so natural that you may forget you ever had a tooth missing in the first place! Tooth loss due to gum diesease, root canal failure, trauma, decay, or that pesky baseball bat may leave you feeling unhappy and less confident. With the loss of function in the affected area, even the daily habit of eating can become a huge hassel. Considering that statistics show 69% of adults ages 35-44 have lost at least one permanant tooth (excluding wisdom teeth) It is no wonder that the Implant option is becoming hugely popular.

What other options are avalible for my missing teeth? Traditional bridges are generally acceptable in many cases. When deciding between a Bridge and a Dental Implant consider the following: Bridges may seem less costly at first but the average Bridge will need a replacement every seven years. This does not provide a good long term solution to the problem. Bridge work weakens the adjoinging supporting teeth and can cause your healthy teeth a lot of undue stress. Bridges are not as asthetic and tend to need a lot of maintinance long term. Just look at the two beautiful teeth that had to be sacrificed to prep this bridge

Would you sacrifice these two healthy teeth
to replace the third?

Typical Bridge Prep- Two teeth shaved down for bridge

Or... save your adjoining natural teeth
with a Dental Implant?

After Impant- Full Function Restored
No additional teeth sacrificed!

Why sacrifice two good teeth to replace a missing tooth when you dont have to? With dental implants there is less trauma to the surrounding teeth, and a beautiful functional implant system will restore the confidence to your smile!

But what if I am missing more than one Tooth?
A typical implant is a single tooth structure that replaces the root, this is topped with an abutment and crown similar to regular teeth. In many cases multiple teeth can be replaced using the single tooth option. This is nice because it leaves you with full function, you can floss inbetween your teeth as you did originally and they are generally more asthetic. In other cases there may be too much damage to the surrounding bone or adjacent teeth and gums to replace multiple teeth with single implants at each site. As an alternative you may want to consider implant supported Bridges or Partials to cover a larger area. Not only is it far less expensive but it allows you to have the strong support of implants without compromizing healthy teeth as a traditional bridge would. In cases where a full set of upper or lower teeth are needed implant supported Dentures are an amazing solution to many of the denture problems of the past. Perhaps you have a friend or family member who has struggled with their traditional denture. Traditional dentures
slip easily, and generally dont fit well in the mouth. Traditional Dentures are hard if not sometimes impossible to eat with, limiting your diet and confidence in eating in public and in private. Dentures can be irritating to clean and easy to lose. With an implant supported denture your denture may be fixed in place! This restores function allowing you to eat as you used to without worrying about slipping. Also, many times your old denture can be fixed to the implant system to save you the cost of replacing the denture itself so it may be more affordable than you think. Any combination of missing teeth can be replaced more effectivly with implants. Even more encouraging the value of implants are slowly being recognized by insurance companies and in some cases your implants may be covered. If you are missing any teeth at all, or are unhappy with your current bridge, partial, or denture think Implants!
